Creed & Tony Take ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and Donate Restaurant Sales
August 25, 2014 - AUSTIN - With the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge taking the nation by storm it seems like just about everyone from celebrities to the kid next door have been called out to either donate or douse themselves with a bucket of ice cold water. Two local restaurant owners, Tony Ciola and Creed Ford IV accepted the challenge and decided to take it a step further by donating 10% of their restaurant sales this coming Wednesday, August 27th. Even better, they nominated Ford’s father, Creed Ford III, CEO of Johnny Carino’s Italian Restaurants, to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and make a similar donation.
Ciola and Ford have four restaurant locations in the Austin area, which include Tony C’s Italian Kitchen and The League Kitchen & Tavern, both located in Lakeway and Avery Ranch areas. The restaurants will be donating to Project A.L.S.
The dining duo took the challenge over the weekend after being nominated by staff members and friends. “We were nominated multiple times by our team members and became inspired by their personal stories as well as the story of Peter Frates. Tony and I knew we had to accept the challenge but we wanted to do something more” said Ford.
Ford and Ciola’s Ice Bucket Challenge video will be posted to their Facebook pages and they are encouraging people to dine at one of their establishments on Wednesday. A portion of every check will be donated.
